About the Conference

This is the15^th Conference of a series initiated in Providence, USA, on 1956, whose original title was: International Conference on Internal Friction and Ultrasonic Attenuation in Solids (ICIFUAS). The 14^th Conference was held on 2005 in Kyoto, Japan, where it was renamed to become: International Conference on Internal Friction and Mechanical Spectroscopy (ICIFMS). The 15^th event of the series will take place in Perugia, Italy, on July 2008.

The Conference is included in the list of events intended to celebrate the Seventh Centennial of Perugia's University, which was officially recognised as a “Studium Generale”  by pope Clemente V on 1308.
