Research topics

Collaboration to the GLAST (the
Gamma-Ray Large Area Space Telescope) project (glast@Stanford/SLAC
and glast@NASA/Goddard
web sites) within the INFN-Perugia
group. Extensive tests of the tracker silicon strip detectors
(SSDs) in clean room. Science tools, source analysis,
likelihood analysis, filtering and spectral-temporal analysis.
Automated science processing and blazar source monitoring.
Blazar variability and population studies (optical and
spectral observations and analysis). Multiwavelength (MW)
scientific programs and proposals for GLAST. Study of the
Active Galactic Nuclei. AGN, (blazars
in particular). Emission mechanisms in blazar and
multiwavelength spectral-temporal analysis and modeling.
Time series, cross-correlation and wavelet transforms
analysis, flare/variability search algorithms.

Blazars optical photometric
monitoring and radio-optical long-term variability analysis.
Sparse time series analysis, cross-correlation analysis,
scaling, periodicity analysis, reconstruction. Polarization
and spectroscopy observations of blazars. Acceleration and
emission models (one-zone synchrotron self-Compton models).
Collaboration to the WEBT
consortiums, collaboration in the OJ
287 project.
